Conversation: In Early February Sea Launch AG's rocket failed 40 seconds after lift off. Intelsat IS-27 telecommunications satellite was destroyed.
Sea Launch is an ocean based satellite launch consortium with joint venture partners anchored with Boeing Commerical Space Company (BCSC) and Russia's Energia and Ukraine's KB Yuzhnoye. The Russian partner provides the rocket used for this satellite launch venture.
The failure of rocket engine provided by the Russian partner comes after a number of recent successful test launches recently.
